Installing Liberty REACT
The supported operating system for Liberty, as of the REACT release is Windows 10 pro, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016. In order to install Liberty, you must be logged in to Windows as an Administrator.
To Check If You Are Logged On As Administrator
- Open the Windows Control Panel.
- Open User Accounts in the control panel.
- On the right side of the screen, the username for the user currently logged into Windows is displayed. The type of account is displayed underneath the account name (Administrator or Standard User). If the current user account is not an Administrator, you will need to log off of Windows and log on with a different account that has Administrative rights.
To Install Liberty from my.resaleworld.com
- Make sure you are logged into Windows as an Administrator.
- Close all programs currently running on your computer.
- Open a Web Browser such as Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge and go to My.resaleworld.com.
- Login to My.Resaleworld.com
- Click on Support then click on Software.
- Click download next to the version you are preparing to install. This will load the installation program onto your computer. If you do not see the icon on your desktop, go to Windows then downloads. Look through your downloads for the installation program. Double-click to start the download.
- If this is a fresh installation, rather than an update of an earlier version of Liberty, you will be prompted to select whether this computer is to be set up as your Main, or as an Additional Workstation. You only want one Liberty Server (Main) – if this is the only PC or if it is to be the main PC, choose Main. Otherwise, choose Additional Workstation.
- The remainder of the installation is fully automated. Server Installations can take up to 10 minutes, depending on the speed of your PC. Workstation installations are usually much quicker and can finish in as little as two minutes.
- It is recommended that you reboot once you have completed installation.
- Once you have rebooted, you can launch Liberty by double-clicking on the Liberty REACT Inventory Module icon that has been placed on your Desktop.
- If this is your first time running Liberty, a Setup Wizard will run. Use the Setup Wizard to enter basic information into the software, such as store name, address, price codes and various settings. This information can all be entered or updated later, if necessary.
Note: Use Liberty in Training Mode when first using and learning the software. To switch from Real Mode to Training Mode, select File from the Main Menu at the top of the screen, then select Training Mode. For more information please see the section entitled Training Mode, which is located in the Tutorial.
